Removal of USTs

During an UST removal, we typically take on much more than the tank removal itself. We disconnect all electrical wiring, purge product piping with nitrogen to empty out the lines, pump out existing fuel in tanks, demolish concrete pads and parking lots, remove and dispose of dispensers, dispenser islands, containment sumps, pumps, product piping, and vent piping. Then we get started on digging around the tanks to pull them out. Each tank is de-vapored and deemed inert, cut open, cleaned from the inside, and rendered unusable as a storage tank. We often take down and demo canopies during these jobs as well.

Installation of Underground Storage Tanks

When installing USTs, we often utilize shoring systems to safely install tanks. Our team is proficient in installing tanks, making sure there is always adequate fall and little to no deflection prior to and after backfilling. We strap down the tanks using specific manufacturing guidelines and ballast tanks with potable water to prevent floating. After tanks are set, PTM starts to work on the tank top plumbing, set islands, and run product pipe and vent lines.

Finishing Touches

After the underground work is completed, we grade the site and pour the tank pad concrete. We set the dispensers and pipe the product in, pump fuel into the new tanks, and assist in starting up the dispensers. In addition, our master electrician provides complete fuel system electric services. Attention to detail is our specialty, from the first measurement to the final walkthrough, we guarantee a reliable and precise installation every time. Our work proves itself in every job we do.

Construction Laborer

PTM is searching for motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team. The ideal laborer will assist in various construction tasks, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently. This role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to attention to detail.

We mainly work in installing, removing, and modifying underground storage tanks and fuel systems. Being in a small and specialized field, we understand not everyone has seen or done what we do. If you're willing to work hard, show up every day with a positive attitude, and learn, we'll teach you the rest. Every new employee works alongside experienced foremen, operators, and crew members who provide hands-on training from day one.

Important

Must have reliable transportation to our shop in Madison, PA.
Crew members ride from the shop to each job site in company vehicles.
Your paid time begins when you arrive at the shop and ends when the crew finishes at the job site for the day.

Duties

Every day is different, but typical responsibilities include:

Assist in preparing the truck every morning: fueling up, loading materials for the day, asking what needs done or loaded.
Work safely around excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other heavy equipment
Load and unload materials and equipment
Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Know how to read and use a tape measure.
Install underground piping and fuel system components.
Some examples of specific tasks: Use handheld saw to cut PVC pipe, thread stainless steel pipe, run product piping from dispensers to sumps, cut angle iron, use various tools to connect fittings and pipes from fiberglass to stainless steel, assist in installing shoring beams, grade gravel with a rake, use a laser to check grade, etc.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and making sure all are clean and put back in their place daily.
Work closely with your crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and with quality workmanship.

Heavy Equipment & Fleet Technician

PTM is looking for a Heavy Equipment & Fleet Technician to help keep our trucks, heavy equipment, trailers, shop, and yard in good working order.

You'll be working around excavators, skid steers, loaders, dump trucks, service trucks, pickups, trailers, and other construction equipment. You'll perform preventive maintenance, handle minor repairs, keep equipment ready for our crews, keep the shop in order, and coordinate larger repairs when something needs to go to an outside shop.

We need someone who is mechanically minded, dependable, takes pride in their work, and can stay busy without someone standing over them.

What You'll Be Doing

Heavy Equipment & Trucks / Fleet

Perform preventive maintenance on excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other construction equipment. Also, on company vehicles, including: service trucks (F-250, 350, 550), pickups, Mack Triaxle, Kenworth W900, various trailers, etc.
Grease equipment and perform routine oil, filter, fluid, belt, hose, and general maintenance.
Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting.
Keep track of when trucks and equipment are due for service/inspections.
Inspect equipment & trucks and identify problems before they turn into major repairs.
Keep equipment clean, maintained, and ready to go to work.
Help prepare equipment for jobs and make sure it is returned in good condition.
Keep detailed service records.

Coordination

When a truck or piece of equipment needs to go out for a larger repair, you'll help manage the process.

Communicate directly with repair shops and equipment dealers.
Explain mechanical problems and provide information about the equipment.
Get updates on repairs.
Coordinate drop-off and pickup.
Follow up when repairs are taking longer than expected.
Communicate repair needs and estimates with PTM management.
Make sure equipment gets back to the shop and is ready to go back to work.

Shop, Yard & Materials

When you're not working on equipment, there is always something that needs done.

You'll help:

Keep the shop clean and organized.
Organize equipment, tools, parts, and materials.
Load and unload deliveries.
Receive and put away materials.
Keep track of commonly used parts and shop supplies.
Order materials and supplies when inventory gets low.
Maintain the yard and properties.
Weed whack, clean up, move materials, and take care of general shop/yard maintenance.
Prepare materials and equipment for upcoming jobs.
Keep in touch with crews to see if they need anything that can be prepped.

We're Looking for Someone Who...

Doesn't need to be told what to do all day.

If the excavator needs greased, you grease it.

If the truck is due for service, you take care of it.

If we're running low on filters or hydraulic oil, you let us know and get them ordered.

If the shop is a mess, you clean it up.

If a truck is sitting at a repair shop, you call and find out what's going on.

If everything is caught up, you find something productive to do.

We want someone who takes ownership and treats the company's equipment like it's their own.

Qualifications

Hands-on mechanical experience with trucks, heavy equipment, construction equipment, farm equipment, or similar.
Experience performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
Good mechanical common sense and troubleshooting ability.
Comfortable working independently.
Dependable and organized.
Good communication skills.
Able to communicate professionally with repair shops and equipment dealers.
Valid driver's license.
Class A CDL is a plus.
Ability to safely operate and move company trucks and equipment.
Construction, heavy equipment, diesel, trucking, or mechanical experience is a plus.

Class A CDL Driver / Laborer

Transport materials using tractor-trailers ('26 Kenworth W900), lowboys ('26 Talbert 55CC), goosenecks, tag trailers, and dump trucks ('19 and '21 Mack GR64F)
Load, secure, and safely transport heavy equipment
Assist our construction crews with underground fuel system installations when not driving
Work with experienced team members installing piping, fittings, tanks, and related equipment
